The Skool of guitar excellence
No Skool is complete without a lesson time table! In the real world this helps ensure time in Skool is spent wisely….same here in Rock Skool!
Throughout this course at whatever level, we will follow this same time table to make the best use of your time practising, so take a moment and familiarise yourself with the format.
PRACTISE TIME TABLE
WARM UP play a few chords, scales and other exercises
PRACTISE play over some stuff you have already learned
LEARN concentrate on a new piece or passage
PLAY wind down with some familiar pieces you like
READ go over some theory
As we get ready to actually play the guitar try to remember and use this system, look back at the practice tips too and avoid the pitfalls that might hinder your progress.
Don’t be tempted to sit and “jam” and waste time. This is not real practise. Practice is where you go over and over something you can’t do ‘til you can! It’s called LEARNING. And it’s here that you either make progress all the time or play “Smoke on the Water” for the rest of your life.
My point…..of the 5 points above, the hardest is LEARN yet it is the most worthwhile so always remember to give time in your schedule to learning new stuff to keep going forward.
Also give some time to theory so as you understand what you are doing.
Together with the practise tips, this time table will allow you to develop good habits and you will get good results right from the start.
