The Skool of guitar excellence
OK, this is a great exercise for power chord movement and sliding. It is a root 5 power chord (5th) so you stay on the same 2 strings all the way to the 12th fret. The 12th to 11th fret slide may take a bit of work though and watch for the other slides too.
Nice little Riff now...all based on the 6th string with the exception of 1 note (the vibrato one) on the 5th string. First, slowly get used to the note progression, then get the rhythm right, finally work on the vibrato....but it will take time and practice!
What a riff to finish on!
From a power chord to a simple but effective scale, chromatic type run up the strings, Again, get the note progression into your head first, then listen and get the rhythm right before playing up to speed.
Finally, stitch the bits together and play along with the SOLO track or stick the CD on and play along!
